GEORGE TOWN, October 13 – Penang BN has submitted a list of candidates to the central leadership for the 13 Parliamentary seats in the state ahead of the 15th General Election (GE15), said state BN Chairman, Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir. He said the state BN also sent a list of candidates for the 40 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats to the central leadership following the Penang DAP’s proposal that the Penang State Assembly be dissolved simultaneously with the Parliament for GE15.
“We are also waiting for the Penang state government’s decision on whether it wants to dissolve the State Assembly to hold elections simultaneously with the Parliament or vice versa, otherwise the machinery will focus on the Parliament alone,” he said when contacted by Bernama on Wednesday. Yesterday, DAP Secretary General, Anthony Loke said, Penang DAP has proposed that the Penang State Assembly be dissolved and the matter will be discussed in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council Meeting.
