PUTRAJAYA, October 19 – Political parties can hold campaign activities such as speeches even though the Election Commission (EC) has not set important dates for the 15th General Election (GE15). Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said, however, the political party must comply with the law and standard operating procedures (SOP) set. This talk can happen at any time, you just have to follow the SOP,” he said at a press conference.
He said that every gathering that is held also needs to obtain permit approval from the police. The country has laws and we know that the people are wise now, he said. A special meeting to discuss and determine the dates for GE15 is scheduled to take place this Thursday following the dissolution of the 14th Term Parliament by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Monday last week.
