IPOH, October 20 – Pakatan Harapan Chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to face the incumbent, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu after the Deputy President of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is almost certain to defend the seat in GE15. With the announcement, the President of the People’s Justice Party (PKR) will leave the Port Dickson parliamentary seat he held after winning a landslide with a majority of 23,560 votes in the Port Dickson by-election (PRK) on 13 October 2018.
Anwar had previously hinted at giving way to other candidates representing the party to compete for the seat he holds. Among the names mentioned is Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun who is said to be at stake for PKR to defend the seat. In the last GE14, Ahmad Faizal who contested on the PH ticket won with a majority of 5,320 votes in a three-cornered clash defeating Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah (BN) and Ibrahim Zakaria (PAS).
Pakatan Harapan (PH) has officially announced the President of the People’s Justice Party (PKR), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the candidate for Prime Minister if they obtain a majority in the 15th General Election (GE15). The matter was announced by PH Secretary General, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution during the Hope Convention which took place at the International Convention Center (ICC) Ipoh on Thursday night.
The announcement was met with shouts and cheers from about 7,000 PH supporters present. I Leader of the Opposition, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that he will contest in the Tambun Parliament in the 15th General Election (GE15). The matter was informed by him himself when he delivered the keynote speech at the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Convention 2022 which took place at the International Convention Center (ICC) Ipoh on Thursday night.
