SHAH ALAM, October 25 – The Malaysian Prisons Department insists that no video recording involving the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has been made by any media agency inside the prison premises as it went viral on social media. The agency said in a statement on its Facebook that the review found that the video had been recorded earlier by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) in conjunction with Kembara Keluarga Malaysia episode 57, which was before Najib was imprisoned.
The video shown on TV1 on 24 October 2022 tells about the history and background of Pekan, Pahang and is not related to politics,” he said on Tuesday. Before this, various parties, especially the opposition, demanded an explanation about the video of Najib speaking on TV1. Among those who demanded an explanation was former Member of Parliament for Teluk Intan, Nga Kor Ming who raised the question of whether Najib is in prison.
