KUALA LUMPUR, November 2 – Barisan National announced that Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar is contesting in the Sungai Buloh Parliament seat in the 15th General Election (GE15). The party also announced Ismail Sabri who is Prime Minister of Malaysia will remain in Bera and UMNO President Zahid will remain in Bagan Datuk at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) here on Tuesday. Ketereh Parliamentary incumbent Tan Sri Annuar Musa was not nominated as a Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate to defend the seat.

His name was not mentioned by UMNO President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the candidate announcement ceremony just now. Zahid, on the other hand, announced that Kelantan UMNO Puteri Leader, Marzuani Ardila Ariffin, will compete in the seat. Also dropped was the controversial Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, following his six-year suspension from UMNO. Barisan Nasioanl did not announce several number of seats which the party will contest in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Barisan Nasional (BN) is betting on several figures from various backgrounds including in the religious field as new candidates to represent the coalition in the 15th General Election (GE15). Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz who was named as the coalition candidate for the Kuala Selangor parliamentary seat. Also listed are independent preacher Datuk Mohamad Kazim Elias to contest the Larut parliamentary seat.

In addition, UMNO Information Chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan will contest in Alor Gajah parliamentary seat; UMNO MT member Hizatul Isham Abdul Jalil to contest in Shah Alam; a new face from MCA, Neow Choo Seong, to contest Taiping parliamentary seat and the son of the former Melaka chief minister, Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali to contest the Hang Tuah Jaya parliamentary seat.

And Vice-President Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who will be standing in Kota Tinggi, Johor. Ahmad Zahid said BN Secretary-General and UMNO Supreme Council Member Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir had been nominated to contest the Lumut parliamentary seat. He also announced that MCA President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong would be defending the Ayer Hitam seat, MIC President Tan Sri SA Vickneswaran wound be contesting in Sungai Siput.

In the effort to restore Malaysia’s economic prosperity and address the bread and butter issues of the people, Barisan Nasional (BN) today presented a combination of experienced candidates and new faces who hold to the primary principle of serving the people faithfully. Outlining the three priority elements namely consistency, service and consensus.

BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN candidates in the 15th general election (GE15) have a great responsibility and trust to work wholeheartedly for the people. First, hold the people’s trust and do not betray the mandate; secondly, service for the people by working round of the clock and thirdly, continuous consensus with all segments of the community to get feedback on implementation methods to improve people’s lives so that it is always appropriate, fresh and fast.
