SHAH ALAM, November 10 – People’s Justice Party (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday declared his wealth with a net asset value of RM11.2 million. A large part of his assets, which is RM10.4 million, is from the ownership of four property units purchased between 2005 and 2022. Among the real estate assets he owns is a land with a house located in Segambut Dalam, Kuala Lumpur worth RM9 million which he bought in 2005 in cash at the time for RM4 million.
According to the document which records the property declaration as of October 31, the purchase of the property was made from the sale of a house at Jalan Setiamurni 1 Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. The other three real estate assets he owns are land units in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan worth RM1 million; land in Bentong, Pahang (RM300,000); land in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang (RM50,000). Meanwhile, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman’s total cash and savings assets, including in financial institutions and investment accounts, are worth RM828,668.
Anwar, who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Port Dickson, has an income of RM21,756 as a representative. Through the document, he who is also the PH candidate for the Tambun Parliament in the 15th General Election (GE15) this time is recorded as not owning any assets in the form of vehicles, jewelery and works of art as well as debt commitments. Anwar had previously declared his assets, which at the time were worth RM10.7 million, to the Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in 2019.
