KUALA LUMPUR, November 22 – Parti Warisan expressed its support for the coalition of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) to form a government after the 15th General Election (GE15). Its president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the support for PH and BN was done because both coalitions had majority seats. PH and BN should be given first choice to form a government.
This support is also on the grounds that the new Federal Government will fully resolve the 21 demands under the Malaysia Agreement 1963,” he said in a statement today. He hopes that PH and BN can be partners who are able to form a government and bring political stability and unity to the country. In GE15, Pakatan Harapan (PH) won 76 parliamentary seats nationwide.
While Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 51 seats, BN (30), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) (22), Pas (22), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) ) (six), DAP (five) and Warisan (three). Muda and Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) each got one parliamentary seat while Bebas got two.
