SHAH ALAM, December 17 – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been confirmed to resign as Chairman of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang). The matter was confirmed by the party’s sources, however insisting that the former Prime Minister remains the Chairman of the Fatherland Movement (GTA). Dr Mahathir resigned as Pejuang Chairman, remaining as GTA Chairman said the source to Sinar Harian on Friday.
According to the source, an official announcement will be made by Dr Mahathir. It is understood that the second Pejuang Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held next January 14. In the 15th General Election (GE15) for the Parliament of Langkawi, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah obtained a majority of 13,518 votes defeating Armishah Siraj (BN), Zabidi Yahya (PH), Dr Mahathir and Abd Kadir Sainudin (Bebas). .
