GELUGOR, December 20 – Universiti Sains Malaysia STEM it up! team volunteered in the Penang Bridge International Marathon 2022 to show its support for the return of this physical run after a 2-year hiatus. The highly anticipated and largest annual sports event in Northern Peninsular Malaysia, PBIM 2022 took place on the iconic bridge that connects Penang Island to the mainland. This largest mass-participation sporting event brought approximately 20, 000 runners out onto the streets.
A variety of stations, including water stations, are set up along the marathon route to ensure the runners’ well-being during the run. The collaboration between USM STEM it up! and PBIM 2022 has brought the team to send a number of 25 volunteers to carry out an 8-hour duty at the water station.
