PUTRAJAYA, December 22 – Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that the status of the National Rehabilitation Council (MPN) has been dissolved. He said that the decision was made because there were overlapping functions and positions that were placed to meet the needs at that time. That is also a duplication of positions that were placed to comply with the requirements at that time he said during a press conference on Wednesday.
On 21 July 2021, the cabinet led by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at that time agreed to establish MPN to replace the Special Committee of the National Rehabilitation Cabinet. The ceremony was chaired by the former Eighth Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin since September 4 of the same year. MPN acted to formulate the strategy and direction of the National Recovery Plan (PPN) for the minister’s consideration after the country was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
