PUTRAJAYA, December 25 – Minister of Economy, Rafizi Ramli is not afraid of public opinion but is confident that rational citizens will begin to understand and participate in what is recommended. He said, in another month, the ‘gangs’ of Perikatan Nasional (PN) who are disputing all that will sit down. Just like they sat on other issues that were originally controversial but when the arguments were presented one by one, intelligent people understood he said via Twitter on Saturday.
Rafizi said this when responding to criticism regarding his statement which advised consumers not to buy goods sold by traders that exceed the average price. He stressed that, to solve the problem, all parties need to ensure that the price ecosystem is more flexible. The government is working on medium and long-term measures including improving the supply chain to stop monopolies
This includes establishing price control without disrupting the continuity of supply and high-scale investment. In his press conference on Friday, Rafizi said consumers are advised not to buy items sold by traders that exceed the average price. He said, this is because consumers have many other options, taking the example of food selection.
