KUALA LUMPUR, February 17 – UMNO Committee member Kota Raja Division, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz was appointed as a member of the party’s Supreme Working Council (MKT) on Thursday. The matter was informed by UMNO Secretary General, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan through a tweet on Twitter. According to him, Tengku Zafrul who is also the Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) was sworn in before the MKT members before the meeting started.
“The UMNO MKT meeting on 16 February 2023 started with YB Senator Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz taking the oath as a MKT Member appointed by the UMNO President. Congratulations on serving for the sake of #ABATA, Religion, Nation, Country so that the #people of #Malaysia can progress and prosper through our joint efforts he wrote. Citing Astro Awani’s report, Tengku Zafrul’s presence at Menara Dato’ onn on Thursday night raises questions for media personnel.
He, wearing an UMNO shirt, arrived at 8.07pm at the tower lobby before rushing into the elevator to go to the meeting room. Previously confirmed that he will run for the position in the next UMNO Election. According to him, the desire is to enable him and the leaders who will be elected later to contribute to the party, especially to restore UMNO.
