KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 – The government has not ruled out the possibility of re-examining the monopoly of the payment system, Touch n Go (TNG) in this country. The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, it follows the existence of problems that are often raised regarding the system. Touch n Go has been operating for more than two decades (20 years) but there has been no progress (improved) in the system. I think you are right and we will reconsider (the monopoly in TNG),” he said.

He said this when answering a question raised by one of the participants of the Youth Dialogue – Anwar Meeting which was held here on Sunday. Through the dialogue, a participant raised the question of whether the government intends to end TNG’s monopoly. It is estimated that there are more than 20 million Touch n Go cards in circulation which represent almost 91 percent of transactions on 31 highways across the country.

Meanwhile, the Temu Anwar program is an opportunity for anyone, especially young people, to ask questions directly to the President of Pakatan Harapan (PH) without any obstacles, which started in 2009. The event, which was attended by thousands of participants, was held for the first time since Anwar was appointed as Prime Minister last year.
