JELUTONG, May 22 – The Penang Youth Space in Jelutong, Penang, was abuzz with excitement as the press conference and launching ceremony for the highly anticipated LovePENANG Youth Night Concert took place. The event was attended by YB Soon Lip Chee, Penang State EXCO for Youth and Sports, and Dr. Gwee Sai Ling, General Manager of the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC). The LovePENANG Youth Night Concert is a remarkable initiative under the PYDC’s “Youth With Rhythm” platform. It aims to provide a platform for registered youth performers to showcase their exceptional talents to the community and the state of Penang.
The event is set to be graced by TYT Tun Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Razak, Tuan Yang di-Pertua. During the press conference, YB Soon Lip Chee expressed his pride in Penang’s abundance of talent, stating, “Penang is a unique state with limitless talents. As the State Government, we have the duty to provide opportunities for these talents to shine in our communities. This LovePENANG Youth Night Concert is one of the State Government’s many efforts to promote the arts within our youth, and I believe our performers for this event will continue to inspire more youths to pursue their talents.”
Dr. Gwee Sai Ling echoed this sentiment, emphasizing PYDC’s commitment to holistic youth development across various fields. She shared, “The ‘Youth With Rhythm’ platform has provided countless opportunities for many talented youths to showcase their skills in state events. The LovePENANG Youth Night Concert will be a very special program as this is the first time we are organizing a concert for our youth performers to showcase their talents to such a large audience within our communities.”
Mr. Ng Huck Aik, Conductor for Penang Youth Orchestra, also spoke at the event, remarking, “Throughout my journey as a conductor, I have found the talents and energy possessed by the youth to be truly inspiring when given the right opportunities. LovePENANG Youth Night Concert is a great example of an opportunity that bridges the youth’s talents with our communities. I invite everyone to attend this event.”
The LovePENANG Youth Night Concert will feature captivating performances by talented individuals and groups from PYDC’s Youth With Rhythm platform, including the Penang Youth Orchestra, Julian Lee, Wak Long Performance Art, Temple of Fine Arts Penang, D’vol Dance Theatre, Cik Yoe, Marcus, and Kabilan.
