PUTRAJAYA, July 17 – Malaysia has confirmed its participation in the prestigious exhibition for the events, meetings, and incentives community, The Meetings Show 2023, held in the United Kingdom. Led by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), the country is ready to engage and incentivize global industry players at Excel London from 28th to 29th June 2023. Mr. Zain Azrai bin Rashid, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, expressed high anticipation and excitement for Malaysia’s first-time presence at the event, which serves as a renowned global platform for progressive meeting and event suppliers.
“The Business Events industry in Asia is thriving once again, and Malaysia is prepared to be part of the action in welcoming business visitors back to the region,” stated Mr. Zain. He further added, “While our presence at the event aims to position Malaysia as the preferred Business Events destination in Asia, we also look forward to enhancing the presence of the region. We believe that collaborative efforts with other ASEAN countries through knowledge sharing and business exchange are the way forward.”
During the show, Team Malaysia will showcase the ‘Tekat’ theme, inspired by the traditional art of embroidery. This theme represents Malaysia’s aspiration to create golden opportunities in organizing remarkable events. In line with the theme, visitors can expect to receive firsthand information on the latest developments in the Malaysian Business Events industry. MyCEB will also present irresistible offerings, including support packages for international business event planners.
Moreover, Team Malaysia is well-prepared to address feedback and challenges from attendees through networking opportunities and business lead generation. Mr. Zain highlighted that the occasion becomes even more meaningful and special with the launch of a dedicated booth on 28th June 2023. The launch coincides with Hari Raya Eid-Adha, a festive occasion widely celebrated by Malaysians.
“We are seizing the opportunity to transport visitors directly to the Malaysian experience and culture through this booth launch. We invite everyone to meet and greet the team while savoring Raya delicacies. The event will be attended by relevant stakeholders from Malaysia’s business tourism sector, including the Malaysia High Commissioner and Tourism Malaysia,” said Mr. Zain Azrai.
Team Malaysia will be led by Mr. Mohammad Isa Abdul Halim, Director – Experiential & Event of MyCEB, together with representatives from Borneo Kuching Convention Centre, Business Events Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, and Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
