KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 – Parti Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (MUDA) made an announcement on Saturday, revealing 10 additional candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming state elections (PRN). With these new additions, MUDA now boasts a total of 20 candidates vying for seats in the PRN across six states. Among the 10 recently announced candidates, MUDA will be fielding two candidates in Negeri Sembilan, 14 in Selangor, three in Penang, and one in Terengganu.
The new candidates include Ahmad Qusyairi Abdull Rahim, Chief of the Negeri Sembilan MUDA Mobilization Bureau, who will contest in the Temiang state constituency, and social media influencer Iswan Ishak, running in Repah. For Selangor, VKK Raja will challenge in the Bukit Gasing state constituency, alongside Azad Akbar (Kota Anggerik), Zayd Shaukat (Subang Jaya), Aida Rahman (Taman Templer), Lim Hooi Sean (Bandar Utama), and Lisa Redzuan (Pandan Indah).
In Penang, the two candidates are Vikneswary Harikrishnan (Perai) and Lee Kim Noor (Batu Uban). Previously announced candidates include Luqman Long, MUDA’s Information Chief, who will contest in Bandar, Terengganu, and Priyankaa Loh, running in Pantai Jerejak in Pulau Pinang. Furthermore, for the Selangor PRN, MUDA is fielding Al Hafiz Ikhwan Mohamad Asaad in Dusun Tua, and Dr. R Siva Prakash in Kuala Kubu Baharu.
Dobby Chew, a member of the Central Executive Committee, has been nominated in Seri Setia, while Afriena Shaqira Sariff, MUDA Selangor’s Treasurer, will be running in Sungai Kandis. Amir Hariri Abd Hadi, MUDA’s Secretary-General, will contest in Seri Serdang. Additionally, Syaidiyah Izzati Nur Razak Maideen will run in Batu Tiga, R Thanusha in Sentosa, and Melanie Ting Yi Hlin in Bukit Antarabangsa. Parti MUDA Pulau Pinang wishes all participating parties in the PRN the best of luck in their campaigning efforts, and hopes for a peaceful and democratic electoral process.
