PORT DICKSON, July 29 – Datuk Seri Anwar, the Chairman of Pakatan Harapan (PH), made a playful statement expressing his pity for Perikatan Nasional (PN), especially Pas. Anwar remarked that only two leaders in the country had ever labeled Pas as a deviant party and an infidel party. Those two individuals were the Chairman of PN, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and the former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. However, the same leaders are now singing praises for Pas. “I have never heard any UMNO leader call Pas a deviant party. Who said it? Muhyiddin.

“The only national leader who said Pas was an infidel party was… Dr Mahathir. “Now they are the ones endorsing Pas. It’s pitiful… We should pity them,” he said lightheartedly. Anwar made these remarks during his speech at the Jelajah Perpaduan Madani and the launch of Jentera Perpaduan Negeri Sembilan in Port Dickson on Thursday. The event was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and other leaders of the Perpaduan Government.

Anwar further mentioned an incident when Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, the President of Pas, fell ill, and some individuals were praying for his death. He pointed out that those individuals were quickly instructed to apologize. “That’s the way of Malaysia Madani’s values, but they (Perikatan Nasional) engage in daily insults. “When there’s an ustaz (Islamic scholar) or Tok Guru (religious leader) in front of them, they still smile. What kind of religion are they taught? “In our religion, we must honor people. Differences in skin color and culture should not be used for insults but for appreciating one another,” Anwar emphasized.
