GEORGE TOWN, August 5 – Connie Tan, the Pakatan Harapan candidate for N32 Seri Delima, has released a personal campaigning video to showcase her political achievements and election manifestos. With a focus on promoting unity and serving the people regardless of race, Connie aims to highlight community activities and address livelihood issues in her constituency. In the modern era, Connie believes that politicians must keep pace with technology and leverage platforms like TikTok and Instagram to engage with the youth electorate.
However, she also emphasizes the importance of traditional methods, such as walkabouts in the constituency, to connect with local voters and listen to their concerns firsthand. Connie acknowledges that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) regime effectively utilized TikTok to engage with young voters but also points out how the platform was abused during the 15th general election to spread fake news. In contrast, Connie advocates for a hybrid propaganda model that combines traditional and new media strategies to ensure accurate information reaches all age groups about the PH government’s initiatives.
She strongly disapproves of PN’s tactics of promoting hate politics and racial-based ideologies. Instead, Connie stresses that the Unity Government and Pakatan Harapan candidates are committed to collaborating and uniting to prioritize good governance and the people’s needs in every decision. “The issue lies not in distinguishing between new or old politics, but rather in the substance of the matter. Regardless of the label, if it revolves around racial divisions, we must unite and put a stop to it,” Connie asserts.
