SEREMBAN, August 12 – In line with predictions, the alliance of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) successfully formed the government in Negeri Sembilan after securing a two-thirds majority by winning 31 seats in the State Assembly (DUN) tonight.
The seats won include DUN Chennah, Pertang, Sungai Lui, Klawang, Bahau, Lenggeng, Juasseh, Nilai, Lobak, Temiang, Sikamat, Ampangan, Pilah, Bukit Kepayang, Rahang, Seremban Jaya, Lukut, Repah, Sri Tanjong, Chembong, Gemencheh, Seri Menanti, Jeram Padang, Palong, Rantau, Mambau, Senaling, Johol, Kota, Chuah and Linggi.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) secured victories in Labu, Paroi, Bagan Pinang, Gemas, and Serting constituencies.
Prominent leaders from both PH and BN in Negeri Sembilan emerged victorious in their contested seats. State PH Chairman, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, reportedly won the Sikamat constituency; however, the final vote count was yet to be confirmed as of 10 p.m.
Chairman of the UMNO State Liaison Body in Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, emerged victorious in the Pertang constituency, while BN Deputy Chairman, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, successfully defended his seat in the Rantau constituency.
