PUTRAJAYA, August 12 – In a significant electoral triumph, Pakatan Harapan (PH) has emerged victorious by capturing 21 seats in the state legislative assembly during the Penang state elections.
The announcement was made by Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh, the Chairman of the Election Commission (EC), who revealed that the decision was reached based on the comprehensive vote tally as of 10:34 pm.
“PH has successfully clinched triumph in 21 seats out of the 40 seats that were contested. Furthermore, the coalition has secured a majority exceeding 50 percent,” he conveyed during a press conference that covered both the state elections and the Kuala Terengganu by-election held on Saturday.
A total of 570 candidates were in contention, vying for victory across 245 state seats in the elections that transpired on Saturday. An impressive 9,773,571 voters were eligible to exercise their right to vote at a network of 3,190 polling centers.
This victory signals a significant development for PH in the Penang state elections, showcasing the electorate’s support for the coalition’s vision and policies.
