GEORGE TOWN, September 21 – The Granite Luxury Hotel pulled out all the stops to mark its first anniversary with a dazzling fashion show as the star attraction. This extravagant event unfolded at The Mirage Pool Deck, offering breathtaking views of the iconic Komtar building. A bevy of models graced an opulent white runway, showcasing the latest products from Bang & Olufsen, resulting in a captivating fusion of high fashion and cutting-edge technology. Among the audience of approximately 80 were sponsors, industry luminaries, members of the press, and influential figures.
The fashion show was impeccably curated by Bang & Olufsen, a brand that also provides state-of-the-art speakers for three themed suites within The Granite. To set the scene, the hotel erected a striking red backdrop, and the models strutted their stuff on an elevated, opulent white platform that overlooked the hotel’s award-winning pool. The Granite made headlines last year when the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) recognized The Mirage as the site of the Highest Cantilevered Acrylic Bottom Swimming Pool.
Mr. Moh Wei Ken, the General Manager of the hotel, reflected on The Granite’s journey during its first year. He expressed deep gratitude for the generous support received from sponsors, media partners, and devoted patrons. “All our achievements are a result of your unwavering support, and we hope you will continue to accompany us on this remarkable journey,” he remarked. As part of the celebration, guests were treated to an exclusive tour of the hotel’s signature Luxury Room and four thematic suites: the Safari Suite, Diva Suite, Darling Suite, and Presidential Suite.
The event was hosted by the Queen of Comedy, Joanne Kam, whose witty humor had the audience in splits, particularly during the interactive games and quiz sessions. Adding an element of excitement to the evening was a lucky draw with room stay prizes collectively valued at an impressive RM20,000. The grand prize was an extravagant night’s stay in the Presidential Suite, which boasts a price tag of nearly RM10,000. The culinary aspect of the evening left nothing to be desired, as guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet featuring a fusion of Eastern and Western cuisine.
Formerly known as M Summit 191, The Granite has been showered with accolades, including winning the International Hotel Awards in Dubai earlier this year. Last year, the Malaysia Book of Records also recognized another facility at The Granite as the Tallest Automated Hotel Car Park.
