KUALA LUMPUR, September 30 – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim does not rule out the possibility of discussing a cabinet reshuffle when he meets with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the Istana Negara on Friday. However, the Prime Minister made it clear that a cabinet reshuffle is not currently pressing, as there is only one ministerial vacancy that needs to be filled, namely the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN), previously held by the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.
“Meeting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is part of my weekly routine. “Cabinet reshuffle? I have thought about it. It’s not urgent because there’s only one vacancy, and I’ve asked the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak and Special Functions), Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, and Deputy Minister of KPDN, Fuziah Salleh, to pay attention,” he said. He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after launching the 60th Anniversary celebration of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) at the TH Tower here on Friday.
