BENTONG, October 4 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said there are parties who are unhappy and want to break the Unity Government due to envy of its strength. Anwar, who is also the Chairman of Pakatan Harapan (PH), said this is because the cooperation involving PH, Barisan Nasional (BN), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is a strong alliance. “Why do they want to break it, (because) they are jealous, because for how long (in this country) we have not had such strength, there are efforts to break this alliance.

“But what’s important is that this Unity Government is stable, for what? To revive the economy, for what? To attract foreign investments, for what? To protect the people’s interests, investors are already confident in the Unity Government, so don’t disrupt, don’t damage it. If you want to disrupt, wait another four years,” he said. He said this in his speech at the Mega Perpaduan Madani campaign in Dataran Simpang Pelangai in conjunction with the Pelangai State Legislative Assembly By-election here on Monday night.

Also present were BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi; Amanah President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu; Pahang BN Chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, and BN candidate for the Pelangai State Legislative Assembly By-election, Datuk Amizar Abu Adam. Anwar added that the unity within the Unity Government has not only successfully provided political stability but has also been able to produce clear policies for the country’s development. He said that during the nine months of governance, the Unity Government has succeeded in providing benefits such as the Madani Economic Policy.

The National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), and the presentation of the Mid-Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12). “In fact, this year’s investment is the highest in our history, and remember this is not even the end of the year yet,” he said. Anwar also expressed confidence that BN would be able to retain the Pelangai State Legislative Assembly seat. The Pelangai State Legislative Assembly By-election on October 7 sees a three-cornered fight between Amizar, the Perikatan Nasional candidate, Kasim Samat, and the Independent candidate, Haslihelmy DM Zulhasni.
