KUALA LUMPUR, October 12 – The low-cost carrier, MYAirline, has announced the suspension of its operations, effective today, October 12, 2023. In a statement, the company mentioned that the suspension would be in effect until a later date to be announced. Financial pressures were cited as the primary reason for this difficult decision, which had to be made while waiting for a restructuring of the shareholders and the company’s capital generation.

“We deeply regret and apologize for having to make this decision, as we understand its impact on our loyal passengers, dedicated employees, and partners. We have worked tirelessly to explore various partnership options and capital generation to avoid this suspension. Unfortunately, time constraints left us with no choice but to make this decision,” said the MYAirline Board of Directors in the statement.

MYAirline also advised affected passengers not to go to the airport and to seek alternative arrangements for their travel. “The Board of Directors, shareholders, and all MYAirline employees will work tirelessly to resume operations as soon as possible, but at this stage, we cannot commit to any timeline. We reiterate our most sincere apologies for any inconvenience arising from this suspension and will do our best to provide updates as they become available,” the statement quoted.
