SINGAPORE, October 15 – Schellenberg Wittmer, a top-tier Swiss law firm, proudly announced the 10th anniversary of its Singapore office, a significant milestone that marks a decade of exceptional legal services in the region. Over this period, the firm has not only grown its international arbitration business but has also played a pivotal role in assisting clients with inbound and outbound investments. Today, Schellenberg Wittmer stands as one of the leading Swiss multinationals, offering specialized legal services across various fields, including banking & finance, capital markets, and cross-border dispute resolutions, among others.
The journey of the Singapore office began with the vision of Partner and then-Managing Director, Dr. Philippe Borens. Under his leadership, the foundations for a thriving business were laid. In 2017, Mr. Christopher Boog took the helm, transforming the Singapore office into a hub for International Arbitration services, while also guiding clients with their investment endeavors. In early 2023, the reins were passed on to the current Managing Director and Partner, Ms. Julie Raneda. With seven years of experience as part of the Singapore team, Ms. Raneda is well-versed in the region’s intricacies.
Ms. Raneda achieved another milestone by being elected Chair of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SwissCham Singapore) earlier in 2023, making her the first female Chair to assume this role. In her capacity as a Partner at Schellenberg Wittmer, she aims to further strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region while actively promoting Swiss businesses in Singapore and fostering closer ties between the Swiss and Singaporean economies through SwissCham.
She remarked, “Singapore and Switzerland share numerous commonalities and a longstanding relationship. Advising clients on both sides of the world presents a tremendous opportunity to reinforce these ties.” Through a decade of unwavering presence, Schellenberg Wittmer has established itself as a trusted partner for cross-border work and international arbitration matters in Singapore and the surrounding region. Mr. Boog, who continues to maintain strong client relationships in the region, emphasized, “Schellenberg Wittmer Singapore serves as our gateway to diverse markets in Asia, bringing us closer to our clients and setting us apart from many of our competitors.”
As Schellenberg Wittmer celebrates its 10th anniversary in Singapore, it extends heartfelt gratitude to clients, business partners, and team members for a decade of successful collaboration. The firm looks forward to a future filled with continued partnerships and legal excellence. To commemorate this milestone, a celebration was held in Singapore on September 7, 2023, attended by clients and business partners.
