GEORGE TOWN, October 21 – Malaysia’s budding young models have once again proven their mettle on the global stage. The Junior Model International / Mr & Miss Teen Super Globe contest, organized by Fashion Runway International, recently unfolded in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 20 to 24. This prestigious competition saw the participation of talented young models from 20 countries worldwide, showcasing their charm and charisma. The contest encompassed six distinct age categories, shedding light on the talents and grace of the younger generation.
These categories ranged from the Junior Model International, catering to age groups between 4 and 12, including 4 to 6 years, 6 to 8 years, and 8 to 10 years. Additionally, there was the Mr & Miss Teen Super Globe category, open to ages 13 to 15 and 16 to 19. Under the guidance of V Model by Velvet Signature, a Malaysian team stood out on the international platform, securing a total of seven awards. This remarkable achievement included two championship titles, two first runners-up, and three second runners-up.
Notably, in the “10 to 12 years” category, 12-year-old Luo Jiafeng from Penang clinched the championship, bringing glory to Malaysia. Another remarkable feat was accomplished by 9-year-old Wen Jiaqian from Selangor, who impressed the judges and emerged as the winner in the “8 to 10 years” category. The contest attracted contestants from diverse nations, including India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and, of course, Malaysia.
Contestants were evaluated based on a range of criteria, with appearance and intelligence accounting for 20% of the score, talent for 30%, evening wear for 20%, and national costume and self-introduction for the remaining 30%. These remarkable young Malaysian models not only dazzled with their charm and grace but also showcased the rich diversity and talent that Malaysia contributes to the international stage. Their outstanding achievements are a testament to the country’s emerging prominence in the world of modeling.
