This new plan-only option provides users with “unlimited” 5G and 4G data, and it’s a cost-effective alternative for households in areas without fiber broadband coverage.
CelcomDigi’s existing 5G Home WiFi plan, which includes a router, was initially priced at RM199 per month but is now available at a promotional rate of RM149 per month. This plan features “unlimited” 5G and 4G data and includes a dual-band 4G/5G wireless router capable of connecting up to 30 devices. However, it does come with a 24-month contract. The newly introduced 5G Home WiFi plan-only option costs RM139 per month but is currently offered at an introductory rate of RM99 per month.
Users will still enjoy “unlimited” 5G and 4G data, and the best part is that there’s no contract involved, as the package doesn’t include a router. Compared to the plan+router bundle, the plan-only option eliminates the RM480 upfront payment. However, it’s essential to note that the “unlimited” plan has a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 1000GB per month. If you exceed this limit, your speeds will be throttled down to 512kbps until the next billing cycle.
For those with high data needs, CelcomDigi offers additional add-on data packages, including a 50GB quota for RM10 valid for 24 hours, and monthly options of 20GB for RM40 and 40GB for RM70. For users looking for alternatives with a focus on 5G coverage, Yes 5G offers its Yes 5G Wireless Broadband plan for RM58 per month, while U Mobile provides its U Home 5G for RM68 per month. Celcom holds an advantage with its broader 4G coverage alongside its access to DNB’s 5G network.
