KEMAMAN, November 14 — Director of Perikatan Nasional (PN) and PAS Central Election, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, has thrown a challenge to any opposition lawmakers who wish to switch sides and align themselves with the government leadership. Sanusi warned that those who take such a step will bear the burden of guilt as they would clearly betray the trust and mandate given by their party. He stated, Anyone who dares to jump, go ahead. You will be chased with the sincerity of the election machinery that worked tirelessly to win you as Members of Parliament.
This sincerity will chase you even to the grave because you have betrayed the sincerity of the machinery that has worked hard to win you. The machinery doesn’t lose anything. Sanusi explained the factors influencing the recent support declaration by four Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Members of Parliament for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He noted two factors at play, one pulling and one pushing. The pulling factor, as he described, is when individuals reject the policies of PN and Bersatu, feeling that they have betrayed the Malay Muslim voters.
On the other hand, the pushing factor involves financial constraints, where MPs are running out of the approximately RM4 million annual allocation for services in their respective areas. Sanusi suggested that these financial constraints create an attractive factor when an offer is made, likening it to offering a glass of water to a thirsty traveler.
