KUALA LUMPUR, November 21 – Maxis, a leading telecommunications provider in Malaysia, has introduced a free speed upgrade for existing Maxis Fibre plan customers, enhancing their internet experience without the need for a contract renewal. Customers subscribed to Maxis Fibre 100Mbps (RM129/mth), 300Mbps (RM149/mth), 500Mbps (RM219/mth), and 800Mbps (RM299/mth) can opt in for the free speed upgrade from November 21, 2023, onwards. The upgrade allows customers to enjoy a one-level increase in speed with no additional monthly charges.
To opt in for the free speed upgrade, customers can use the Maxis app. Eligible plans for the upgrade include Maxis Fibre 100Mbps to Maxis Home Fibre 300Mbps, Maxis Fibre 300Mbps to Maxis Home Fibre 500Mbps, Maxis Fibre 500Mbps to Maxis Home Fibre 800Mbps, and Maxis Fibre 800Mbps to Maxis Home Fibre 1Gbps. However, certain customers, such as those residing in areas with insufficient network infrastructure or subscribed to specific offers like Pakej Rahmah or Maxis Family Plan, may not be eligible for the free speed upgrade.
Maxis assures customers that if they are currently under contract, opting in for the free speed upgrade will not extend their contract period. For customers already out of contract, the upgrade will not trigger a contract renewal unless there is a change of equipment. Customers with equipment incompatible with the new speed can request an upgrade, subject to a new 24-month contract. The offer is available from November 21, 2023, onwards until further notice. For more details and to opt in for the free speed upgrade, customers can visit the Maxis website.
