KUALA LUMPUR, November 27 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) is commemorating over a decade of successful efforts in nurturing future-ready talent through structured internship programs. With a rising demand for industrial training placements, equating to nearly 2% of Malaysia’s annual labor market, TalentCorp, mandated by the Ministry of Human Resources, has played a pivotal role in addressing unemployment and underemployment challenges among graduates. At the MySIP Appreciation Award, Deputy Minister of Human Resources, YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud, commended TalentCorp’s contributions to enhancing graduate employability through the MySIP program.
The program, now extended to include Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students, is recognized as a strategic initiative for students to gain industry-relevant skills and readiness. The ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Human Resources and TalentCorp is focused on studying the proposed National Industrial Training Policy, intending to establish guidelines for employers to provide a conducive work environment, fair allowances, and structured training opportunities. Since its inception in 2012, the TalentCorp National Structured Internship Programme (MySIP) has positively impacted over 112,000 students, engaging approximately 600 companies annually.
The program ensures participating students receive a minimum monthly allowance and a well-organized, educational internship framework. Aside from providing registered MySIP Companies with a double tax deduction incentive, the initiative functions as a vital talent pipeline for these organizations. TalentCorp’s recent launch of mynext by TalentCorp, a comprehensive platform for facilitating MySIP, further underscores its commitment to empowering the Malaysian talent pool and supporting the country’s economic aspirations.
