PUTRAJAYA, December 14 — The Community Communications Department, known as J-Kom, will now fall under the jurisdiction of the Communications Ministry, according to Minister Fahmi Fadzil. Following the Cabinet reshuffle, the Communications and Digital Ministry has been separated into two entities, with the digital component now functioning as a distinct ministry led by Gobind Singh Deo from DAP.

While Fahmi has yet to confirm the new chief of J-Kom, he indicated that the department would be grouped with other agencies under the Communications Ministry, including BERNAMA, RTM, FINAS, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and MyCreative Ventures. On the other hand, agencies like Malaysia Digital Economic Corporation, MYNIC, and the Department of Personal Data Protection will be placed under the Digital Ministry, with the status of Digital Nasional Berhad still under discussion.
