ITASCA, December 17 – AIT Worldwide Logistics, a prominent global supply chain solutions provider, is set to broaden its global footprint with the announcement of its binding purchase agreement to acquire Lubbers Logistics Group, a distinguished European logistics company. This strategic move is poised to position AIT as a key player in European road transport and further strengthen its capabilities in the energy sector.
Lubbers Logistics Group, headquartered in Schoonebeek, Netherlands, has emerged as a leader in providing top-tier transportation solutions, specializing in road transport, project cargo, and global freight forwarding services. With a workforce of over 377 employees and a network of nine road transport hubs and nine freight locations strategically located throughout Europe, Lubbers brings extensive industry expertise and a robust operational presence. Vaughn Moore, Chairman and CEO of AIT, emphasized the positive impact of the acquisition, stating, “This deal will enhance our position in Europe and bolster our presence in the energy sector, allowing us to better serve current customers while creating new opportunities.”
The acquisition will see AIT’s network expanding with 18 new offices, reaching into new countries such as Denmark, Norway, Romania, and Turkey. The acquisition, expected to be finalized by the end of 2023, is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
