KUALA LUMPUR, December 21 — The Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) and AMS Caddy Academy have jointly introduced Malaysia’s first MGA-certified caddy academy, marking a transformative moment in the country’s golfing landscape. Unveiled at the Mines Resort & Golf Club during the inaugural townhall event on December 20, the collaboration addresses the scarcity of trained caddies in Malaysia. MGA, as the governing body for golf in the country, aligns its mission with AMS Caddy Academy’s objective of raising the standards of caddyship, creating new opportunities, and fostering excellence in the sport.
The strategic partnership is a crucial step in meeting the urgent demand for skilled caddies, which has significantly impacted the golfing industry. AMS Caddy Academy is positioned as a comprehensive solution, dedicated to enhancing the overall golfing experience and transforming caddyship into a viable career path. With support from key government ministries, the academy aims to standardize and elevate the profession, offering Malaysians the chance to pursue a career as professional caddies both locally and internationally.
The townhall event showcased significant highlights, including MGA President’s reiteration of the organization’s commitment to improving the golfing experience, an in-depth exploration of AMS Caddy Academy’s mission, a live demonstration of the academy’s training program, and the launch of the AMS Caddy App, an automated system revolutionizing caddy tracking and management. The event also offered insights from notable keynote speakers and provided an exclusive walkthrough of the state-of-the-art training facility.
