SINGAI BULOH, December 24 – The 7th edition of the Junior Scientist Day program, centered around Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), unfolded on December 19th and 20th, 2023, marking a successful event. Organized by the Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB) at the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM, the program, led by Dr Noor Fahitah Abu Hanipah, garnered support from various academic and non-academic staff, postgraduate students, and collaborators from the Crime Investigation Department of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, and UiTM College of Creative Arts.
Aimed at fostering an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Arts (STEAM) among children aged 7 to 12, the CSI-themed program provided an interactive and engaging platform, allowing participants to solve a forensic case through multiple stations, each led by experts in the respective fields. The initiative not only educated the children on basic forensic science but also encouraged critical thinking, aligning with the government’s vision to instill a scientific culture and open doors to future opportunities for the younger generation.
