PUTRAJAYA, January 3 – Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has reassured Malaysians that they can use the newly launched Central Database Hub (Padu) system without concerns about the security of their personal data. Fahmi highlighted the system’s prioritization of cybersecurity, with crucial entities such as the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa), CyberSecurity Malaysia, and the Department of Personal Data Protection (JPDP) actively involved in its development.
The meticulous organization of data storage processes by JPDP, ensuring compliance with the law, further solidifies confidence in the security measures of Padu. Fahmi emphasized that Padu, as a game-changer, will instigate a cultural shift, aiding the government in formulating policies and carrying out efforts to assist the people. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi echoed this sentiment, stating that Padu would contribute to cost-cutting measures and ensure subsidies are directed to the rightful beneficiaries.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo hailed the launch as a historic milestone for the country’s digital transformation, calling for cooperation to update information in the system. Transport Minister Anthony Loke emphasized the responsibility of elected representatives to ensure their constituents update their information on the Padu system, enabling more efficient aid distribution.
