GEORGE TOWN, January 25 – Penang Hill Corporation (PHC), in collaboration with Rapid Penang and with the support of the Penang State Government, has announced the return of the Penang Hill Free Shuttle Service during the Chinese New Year celebration. The service will operate from February 10 to February 13, 2024, providing eight daily trips in both directions at intervals of 1 hour and 30 minutes, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The shuttle bus is wheelchair-friendly and aims to ease traffic congestion in the surrounding areas while promoting a green initiative to lower carbon emissions in the Air Itam area. Passengers can board the shuttle service at the bus stop on Jalan Ria to reach Penang Hill Lower Station and vice versa. In case of maximum capacity, alternative transportation options like Rapid bus number 204 and GrabCar with a special promo code are available. The shuttle service aims to address parking challenges and reduce travel time, enhancing the overall visitor experience during the Chinese New Year holiday.
