GEORGE TOWN, January 25 – PRM Penang has called for the resignation of the Chairman of Pihak Berkuasa Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP) over the ongoing water disruptions in the region. The party criticizes the YB ADUNs (People’s Representative Assembly members) on the PBAPP Board of Directors for continuing to receive fees and allowances while consumers endure prolonged water disruptions without clear information on when the next shutdown might occur.
PRM Penang highlights the repeated bursting of the underwater pipe in the Perai river, attributing it to neglect and a lack of routine inspections. They argue that the deteriorating state of the pipe, evident in its frequent ruptures, reflects the incompetence of the PBAPP Board in managing water supply matters. The party urges the Chief Minister, who serves as the Chairman of PBAPP, to set a moral standard by resigning from the post.
