SEREMBAN, January 25 – Spectrum Materials Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. has officially launched its inaugural manufacturing facility in Sendayan Techvalley, Malaysia, representing a significant step for the high-purity gases supplier catering to the computer chip manufacturing industry. With an initial investment of USD7 million allocated to the first phase of development, covering construction, equipment, and start-up operations, Spectrum Materials is poised to play a pivotal role in producing essential gases crucial to the fabrication of computer chips.
The inauguration ceremony, officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Hj. Aminuddin Bin Harun, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, marks the company’s commitment to job creation, with plans to scale its workforce to over 50 people by the close of 2024. The move aligns with the Malaysian government’s efforts to strengthen the electrical and electronics (E&E) and semiconductor industries. President and CEO of Spectrum Materials, Mr. Guofu Chen, expressed delight in the facility’s opening, characterizing it as the establishment of a world-class production facility for semiconductor-grade specialty chemicals in Malaysia.
