GEORGE TOWN, January 31 – The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) is set to launch the 7th edition of the Penang Roadshow to India 2024, spanning key cities from January 15 to 22, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, and Kochi. This strategic initiative, known as the ‘Penang Odyssey’ campaign, aims to position Penang as the preferred destination for both business meetings and leisure escapades in the Indian market.

With a focus on fostering relationships with Indian travel agents, the roadshow is expected to host approximately 200 buyers in each city, creating a vibrant platform for networking, collaboration, and business expansion. The Penang Odyssey campaign seeks to capitalize on the significant potential for collaboration between Penang and the Indian travel industry. Penang, known for its cultural richness and contemporary allure, hosted around 600 events with 160,000 delegates in 2023, underlining its capacity to host large-scale, world-class events.

Malaysia’s recent introduction of a visa-free regime, allowing stays of up to 30 days until December 2024, enhances accessibility for Indian visitors, reinforcing Penang’s commitment to providing seamless travel experiences. The roadshow aligns with Penang’s efforts to establish additional direct flights, catering to the growing demand and interest from the Indian market, and solidifying Penang’s status as a premier destination for business and leisure.
