KUALA LUMPUR, January 31 – Vale, a global mining leader, brings joy to families in Kampung Koh, Sitiawan, as they celebrate the Chinese New Year with the distribution of festive care packages. In collaboration with Persatuan Jalinan Usahasama Masyarakat Manjung, Vale has curated packages worth RM30,000 for 200 socioeconomically vulnerable families. The care packages include essential items and festive delights, such as rice, dry pan mee, pure sesame oil, ginseng chicken herbal soup, and fish sauce, aiming to enhance the New Year celebrations for these families.
Leonardo Paiva, CEO of Vale in Malaysia, expressed the significance of the Chinese Lunar New Year as a time for growth, strengthening bonds, and sharing blessings. The care packages are intended to spread festive joy and help the community welcome the New Year with special celebrations. Kampung Koh, Sitiawan, located near Vale’s Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (TRMT), represents a focal point for iron ore distribution in Asia.
Vale’s initiative aligns with ‘Vale Bersama Manjung,’ a socioeconomic assistance program initiated during the early days of the pandemic. This program, contributing close to RM2 million, focuses on holistic community development by offering financial assistance, education, and upskilling programs to support the socioeconomic growth and well-being of the community.
