KUALA LUMPUR, February 2 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, granted an audience to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Negara yesterday. This marked His Majesty’s first official engagement after taking the oath of office as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The meeting was a significant event, with photographs posted on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s official Facebook account. Sultan Ibrahim succeeded Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, completing his five-year term as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on January 30, which began on January 31, 2019.
