PUTRAJAYA, February 21 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called upon academicians, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to join hands in realizing the vision of a future sustainable humane economy. Speaking at the International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance, PM Anwar emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts grounded in an ‘ummatic’ commitment to bring about positive change. Anwar highlighted the need for academicians to advance knowledge boundaries and align theoretical dimensions with ethical principles, while financial institutions should integrate these principles into their core structures and decision-making processes.

Regulatory bodies, he noted, must create frameworks that incentivize ethical conduct and innovation. The government’s promotion of the Madani economy principles, based on sustainability, care, compassion, respect, innovation, prosperity, and trust, aims to foster a new method of civilizational development. This approach prioritizes sustainable businesses, environmental protection, and social well-being, envisioning an economy that places people at its center, fosters innovation, and addresses poverty and inequality.
