KUALA LUMPUR, February 27 – During the inauguration of the First Meeting of the Third Session of the 15th Parliament, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim granted authority to the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat and the President of Dewan Negara to take firm action against members who transgress parliamentary boundaries. Sultan Ibrahim emphasized the importance of upholding decorum and compliance with parliamentary rules, warning of a 14-day ban for those who persist in defiance.
In his address, His Majesty urged all MPs to lead by example and prioritize unity and cooperation in national development efforts. Sultan Ibrahim underscored the collective responsibility of lawmakers in shaping the country’s destiny, emphasizing that success hinges not solely on the Prime Minister but on the collaborative efforts of all parliamentary members.
