KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 – CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (“CIMB Group” or “the Group”) reaffirms its dedication to aiding those in need during the Holy month of Ramadan with the launch of its Harapan Ramadan programme. In a milestone move, this year’s edition will mark CIMB Malaysia’s 100th anniversary by extending its outreach to 100 distribution locations across Malaysia, impacting over 34,000 individuals from the Asnaf and B40 groups, single parents, refugees, and other underserved communities. Under the joint leadership of CIMB Islamic and CIMB Foundation, the initiative mobilises its largest Ramadan contribution to date, exceeding RM1.8 million.

This substantial fund allocation will facilitate the distribution of essential items such as rice, cooking oil, canned food, and cash allowances to orphanages, easing the financial burdens faced by many during the fasting month and the upcoming festive season. Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff, CEO of CIMB Islamic and CIMB Foundation, expressed pride in the programme’s expansion, underscoring CIMB’s commitment to fostering community well-being as it celebrates a century of service. Through initiatives like the Harapan Ramadan programme, CIMB Group continues to demonstrate its dedication to making a positive and lasting impact on the communities it serves.
