KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 ― The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) is set to unveil the Single Window Initiative, aiming to bolster Malaysia’s startup ecosystem by simplifying processes and consolidating resources under one platform. Minister Chang Lih Kang highlighted that the initiative aims to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles, accelerate approvals, and empower entrepreneurs to navigate the startup landscape with greater efficiency, aligning with the goals of the KL20 Summit.

Mosti has developed the Malaysian Startup Ecosystem Roadmap (SUPER) as a blueprint to propel the country’s startup ecosystem to regional prominence. Addressing crucial areas such as talent development, funding accessibility, market access, and technology and social impact innovation, SUPER lays the foundation for Malaysia’s startup growth. With initiatives like the Malaysia Venture Capital Roadmap (MVCR) and MyDigital, alongside incentives for foreign investment, Malaysia emerges as an appealing destination for digital businesses seeking regional expansion.

The KL20 Summit, scheduled for April 22-23, 2024, aims to propel Malaysia into the top 20 global startup ecosystems by 2030, fostering an environment conducive to startups and venture capitalists alike. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will inaugurate the summit and launch the KL20 action paper, outlining reforms to elevate Malaysia’s startup tech sector. With over 1,000 participants expected, including international investors and startups, the summit signals Malaysia’s commitment to becoming a hub for startups.
