KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 – Amid swirling speculations, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has clarified that the party has not yet finalized its candidate for the upcoming Kuala Kubu Baru by-election next month. Loke emphasized that while there is a list of potential candidates, no decision has been made thus far, according to a report by Free Malaysia Today (FMT).
The report suggested that Hulu Selangor municipal councillor Saripah Bakar is a leading contender to represent Pakatan Harapan in the by-election scheduled for May 11. Saripah’s popularity among grassroots supporters has allegedly positioned her as a frontrunner, as Kuala Kubu Baru, a mixed constituency, prepares to elect its new representative following the recent vacancy left by the passing of incumbent Lee Kee Hiong.
