KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 – In a strategic move to catalyse positive change and empower communities across Malaysia, Biji-biji Initiative and IKEA Social Entrepreneurship are thrilled to announce the creation of SEAM (Social Enterprise Accelerator Malaysia). This partnership aims to foster innovative and sustainable solutions prioritising social impact and addressing critical social and environmental issues.
Despite the growth of the social enterprise sector in Malaysia, many promising ventures face difficulties accessing necessary resources and support. SEAM aims to bridge this gap, empowering social enterprises to better serve marginalised communities and promote sustainability. Juliana, CEO of Biji-biji Initiative, envisions SEAM as a catalyst for strengthening the social enterprise ecosystem through collaboration among various stakeholders. Åsa Skogström Feldt, Managing Director of IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, and Malcolm Pruys, Country Retail Director of IKEA Malaysia, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the programme’s potential to drive meaningful change and mutual learning.
