GEORGE TOWN, May 20 — Penang FC’s hopes of securing three points in their home opener were dashed as they played to a 0-0 draw against Terengganu FC in a Super League match at Stadium Bandaraya yesterday night. Despite dominating the first half with several attempts to breach Terengganu’s defense, the home team failed to convert any opportunities into goals.

Terengganu FC nearly took the lead in the 38th minute when midfielder Manual Gelito Ott scored, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside. In the second half, Penang FC continued their offensive efforts and thought they had broken the deadlock in the 68th minute through Mohammad Nabil Ahmad Latpi, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review. The match ended in a stalemate, with both teams earning a point.
