GEORGE TOWN, May 24 — Penang has unveiled the Penang Chip Design Academy, a pivotal part of the forthcoming Penang STEM Talent Blueprint, set to launch in June 2024. This initiative aims to enhance the region’s Integrated Circuit (IC) Design and Digital sectors, aligning with the state’s plan to develop an IC Design and Digital Park revealed earlier this month.

Headed by the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) and supported by industry players, academia, and InvestPenang, the Academy focuses on comprehensive design development. It aims to cultivate talents through academic training and practical experience, preparing individuals to become industry-ready IC Design Engineers. Announced by Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow at the Penang Career Discovery Day 2024, the Academy underscores Penang’s ambition to become a top investment destination for design and digital enterprises.
