SINGAPORE, May 31 — REDEX has announced its exclusive partnership with TNBX to transform the Malaysia Green Attribute Trading System (mGATS) into the premier digital marketplace for Malaysia Renewable Energy Certificates (mREC). This collaboration aims to accelerate Malaysia’s renewable energy goals by providing businesses with an efficient and transparent platform for acquiring mRECs.
The revamped mGATS will leverage REDEX’s innovative technological solutions to facilitate live trading and auctions, enhancing price transparency for mREC acquisitions. REDEX Founder and CEO Kang Jen Wee expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing its role in advancing Malaysia’s sustainable energy future. TNBX Managing Director Ir. Mohd Razif Abd Halim highlighted that the initiative aligns with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and supports the country’s ambition to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
